Bell Helicopter

Founded in 1935, Bell Helicopter continues to set the pace for the industry and expand the scope of vertical lift. Over its rich history, Bell Helicopter has delivered more than 35,000 aircraft to our customers around the world. Voted “No. 1 in Customer Support” for 18 years in a row by readers of Professional Pilot magazine and 7 consecutive years by the readers of Aviation International News, Bell is an industry leader with unmatched name recognition.

Bell Helicopter started its operations in India in 1995 with a liaison office in New Delhi. Today, Bell Helicopter has grown to more than 100 employees and has offices in New Delhi, Bangalore and Mumbai. At the Textron India technology center in Bangalore, Bell Helicopter is continuing to build a cross functional team of engineers to support global operations with a variety of expertise including design, research, simulation and modeling, systems engineering, analysis, and manufacturing engineering for both new product development and current production models.

After bringing the first helicopter to India back in 1956, the Bell Helicopter fleet in India has grown from only two helicopters in 1994 to more than 100 helicopters today, making Bell Helicopter the market leader in India. Bell Helicopter also has two Customer Support Facilities (Airworks in Mumbai and Deccan Aviation in Bangalore), one Independent Sales Representative (Jubilant Enpro) and a Customer Support Engineer solely dedicated to support Indian customers.

Nearly 60 percent of all helicopters produced globally are Bell helicopters and 98 percent of all new helicopter missions were pioneered in a Bell product. Bell Helicopter currently produces a wide variety of transport and executive aircraft, including the 429, 412, 407 and 206L-4. Bell Helicopter also has military programs including the AH-1Z, UH-1Y, OH-58D and the V-22 Osprey tilt rotor.

Bell 429

Bell Helicopter brought its 429, the world’s newest helicopter, to India in 2010. The Bell 429 has a state-of-the-art, fully-integrated glass cockpit; an advanced drive system that delivers power and superb performance; best in class WAAS navigation and IFR capability. The additional gross weight certified by the Indian DGCA now permits operators to equip the Bell 429 with additional options and directly translates to greater range and loiter times. Air ambulance and law enforcement operators in particular will be better able to serve the needs of the public, saving lives and protecting communities.

Bell 407

The Bell 407, which has landed at the density altitude 23,000 ft. in India, continues to be one of the most sought-after helicopters in today’s market. The Bell 407 integrates reliability, speed, performance, and maneuverability with a cabin configurable for an array of missions and payloads. In the new Bell 407GX, the superior performance reaches a higher level with its Garmin G1000HTM flight deck, which provides critical flight information at a glance for greater situational awareness and safety.

Bell 412

The Bell 412 offers operators the highest dispatch reliability in the twin-engine class, and is heavily relied upon in critical situations. The Bell 412 reliably performs in the most extreme climates on the planet every day. Its expansive cabin can be configured to accommodate either cargo or personnel. It is certified for single pilot IFR with a dual digital automatic flight control system allowing for automatic approach to hover and automatic hover capabilities. One of the most recognized police aviation units in the world, The New York Police Department, began utilizing the Bell 412 for air-sea rescues and has now expanded their usage of the versatile aircraft to include counter-terrorism and other law enforcement missions to protect the city.

Bell 525 Relentless

In February 2012, Bell Helicopter announced the world’s first Super MediumTM helicopter, the Bell 525 Relentless. The Bell 525 Relentless is designed to offer best-in-class capabilities to our customers. It features superior payload and range, cabin and cargo volumes and crew visibility. The new Bell 525 Relentless will be powered by the reliable performance of a world-class GE engine – the GE CT7-2F1. Capable of carrying up to 16 passengers, the Bell 525 Relentless is designed to support our customers in various mission configurations including oil and gas, search and rescue, helicopter emergency medical services and VIP/corporate transport.
