Apply and Job Search Tips

Print this page or minimize the window as you step through the job application process.

Searching for Jobs

  • ENTER Key (Return) - Use the Search button instead of the ENTER key (or return) after you input or select your search criteria. Our system does not recognize the Enter key at this time.
  • ADVANCED SEARCH - Use the Advanced Search link to use a variety of filters for your search.

Creating an Account

  • USERNAME – You can select any combination of letters and numbers to set up your username, it does not need to be your email address.
  • PASSWORD – Your password must be at least 8 characters and contain at least 1 number, 1 uppercase and 1 lower case character. Select REGISTER (or LOGIN if returning user).
  • RESUME ONLY – If you aren’t ready to apply for jobs, but want to upload a resume, use the “Apply without selecting job” link under the Latest Posted Jobs section.

Eight Steps in Applying for Jobs

To ensure that your application is received and processed properly, follow these eight steps after selecting "Apply for selected jobs" on the main Career page or "Apply Now" from the job posting. Remember to save often and after every page - you can return at any time to complete your application.

STEP 1: Upload or Copy Resume
STEP 2: Complete Contact Information
STEP 3: Complete Preferences
STEP 4: Complete Work Experience
STEP 5: Complete Qualifications
STEP 6: Complete Questionnaire
STEP 7: Complete Referral Information
STEP 8: Submit & Agree

STEP 1: Upload Resume

  • Select "Upload your resume", then the Continue button; browse out and select your resume. When loaded, select Continue. (You may need to scroll up to top of page to see the results.)
  • The system will extract contact, education and work experience information from your resume and pre-populate many of the fields on the application for you.
  • Resumes must be in a text format such as .doc, .rtf, .txt. PDF files cannot be read.
  • You can also use the "Copy/Paste Your Resume" option to add your resume, but the system will just add the resume and will not pre-populate any fields for you.

Pre-Screening Questionnaire

  • If the job has a pre-screening questionnaire, you will be presented with a page with explanation and a short set of questions (usually 2-3). Answer the question to the best of your ability.

After submitting your answers, the system will advise you if you are eligible to continue with your application or not. If you are eligible, you will be able to complete the next steps.

  • When complete, select Save.
  • Move to the next page by selecting the "Work Experience" tab or the "Next" link.

STEP 5: Education and Other Qualifications

STEP 6: Questionnaire

  • All questions listed on this page, if any, must be answered for full consideration.
  • Yes/No questions may be in reversed order (No/Yes), please read the question and answer carefully.
  • Open-ended questions follow the yes/no, multiple choice questions. Some of them may reference a Yes/No question you answered higher in the list.

STEP 7: Referral Information

  • Let us know how you heard about the job.
  • If you were referred by a current employee, select that open and type in the employee’s name and his/her WORK email address.

Back to Eight Steps

STEP 8: Submit & Agree

  • Only select SUBMIT when you have finished ALL pages of the application. Selecting SAVE only will NOT complete your application process – you will be in "draft" status only and not visible to the recruiter on the job opening.
  • Applicants in the U.S. will be asked on the next page to self identify for equal employment opportunity purposes – this is completely voluntary and includes an option to decline disclosing the information.
  • All applicants are asked to read our Understanding & Acknowledgement, and select Agree/Disagree.
  • If you agree, the system will acknowledge your application and, if applicable, will provide on screen confirmation of your qualifications for the position.

Updating your resume

Note: your resume becomes a part of the application when you apply.  You are not able to update your resume as it is "version-controlled."  To update your resume, simply select the job title again and re-apply.  Your previous information should still be in the record so you may continue the application process from this point. (Again, please save often).

If you re-apply to the same job, the system will warn you that you will be creating a duplicate file. Please select OK to proceed, re-applying  has no negative effect on your application, it provides the recruiter with your most current information.

Problems?

If you encounter problems during the application process, first try to log back in. If you saved throughout your application, you will have an unsubmitted application showing in our Career Tools.

Thank you in advance for ensuring complete and accurate information is provided. We will be in touch with you if an interview is desired. In the interim, please accept our best wishes on your job search.
