Gary Cantrell

Gary Cantrell is the vice president and chief information officer for Textron Inc., including Textron Information Services (TIS). His responsibilities include directing the day-to-day activities of TIS including managing TIS executive staff members and business unit chief information officers. He oversees Textron's Information Management Council and manages Textron's information technology outsourcing relationships. Cantrell also serves as the executive sponsor for the Procurement Council. He has more than 20 years of leadership experience managing advanced technology product development, supply chain management, sales & marketing, finance and information technology.

Prior to joining Textron, Cantrell held management positions with Bank of America as senior vice president, Enterprise Access and Technology Services, and senior vice president, Supply Chain Management for Technology and Operations. In these positions, Cantrell oversaw the distributed computing activities for all banking centers, call centers and network operations including end user support. His supply chain scope included $1.5B of annual technology related spend and strategic sourcing initiatives.

Before joining Bank of America in 2001, he spent 15 years at Honeywell International where he held a variety of information systems, program management, finance and engineering positions. Cantrell also spent 5 years at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base supporting early research and advanced development initiatives.

He earned a B.S. degree in management and finance from the University of Dayton and an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix and has completed numerous leadership forums with previous organizations. He is also a licensed private pilot and a master scuba diver.
