Textron Defense Systems manufactures air-launched weapons, intelligent battlefield munitions, and sensor and surveillance systems. Lycoming Engines engineers, manufactures and services piston aircraft engines. Textron Defense Systems has offered a special "visit work" program for the children of employees for the past ten years. It is an opportunity for youngsters, ages seven to fifteen, to shadow parents and grandparents, attend meetings, meet their co-workers, and enjoy special activites. In 2007, the youngsters built their own rockets out of water bottles.
