Engineering

EngineeringEngineers design and create the products of Textron. From a Cessna aircraft to a Greenlee hand tool, the men and women of Textron move our company forward every day by creating new and innovative products. As an engineer, you work as part of a cross-disciplinary team in creating and perfecting products for customers.

Because of the highly-specialized nature of this work, our engineers are required to have engineering degrees within their specific disciplines. Textron hires people from nearly all engineering disciplines, but they must have excellent communication skills and bring a process-oriented approach to their work.

In addition to working and collaborating with your colleagues, many engineers have the opportunity to be part of the Textron Technology Forum, an annual program for Textron engineers to share best practices and network with others across the enterprise. Many general management positions within the company are held by engineers due to the technical nature of Textron’s products and the need for highly-developed analytical skills.

Engineering:

  • Design, create and maintain high-quality products that meet the needs of customers

  • Use process-oriented methodologies to develop and manage projects

  • Work collaboratively within cross-disciplinary teams, especially those involving complex products, to ensure projects are completed on time and within budgets
