Councils, Forums & Groups

Councils, Forums & GroupsAs a networked enterprise, collaboration is the cornerstone on which we build our success. And it comes in many forms. From managers across the business units sharing best practices to project teams collaborating on specific issue areas, working together helps every employee and Textron.

At Textron, you’ll have opportunities to contribute, grow professionally and make a real difference. There are a number of groups within Textron to help build relationships and enhance cooperation across departments, business units and functional areas. These include:

Forums – Forums provide excellent opportunities to network with employees within your business or at other Textron business who share similar professional interests, whether it’s Research & Development, Diversity, Six Sigma or Web Communications. Learning from peers is an important component of building your career with Textron.

Project Teams – Working with Textron Six Sigma Black Belts, employee teams work together to improve processes or issues that may be related to their job, their department or a product. Project teams have taken on such issues as waste reduction, new product design and plant workflow.

Action Groups – Managers across Textron’s business units with similar expertise come together to follow through on strategies created by Enterprise Councils and implement the plans. The work of the action groups has led to the creation of such initiatives as the Talent Development program, Transformation and Finance Best Practices.

Enterprise Councils – While Textron’s businesses may be different, the disciplines within each business are similar. Councils comprising the senior leadership teams from functional units (Finance, HR, Communications, Legal, IT, Sales & Marketing, Supply Chain and Strategy) meet regularly to develop strategies and discuss common issues.
