    JOB DUTIES:

    Primary Purpose:

    Provides technical factory service support of Lycoming's products to OEM, distributors, and individual customers through effective communications and field visits. Ensures that feedback of service issues reaches the appropriate personnel for effective problem resolution. Maintains familiarity with all engine systems and models. Provides documentation to support service experience through the Service Record (SR) system. Coordinates warranty service issues as necessary.


    Responsibilities:

    ·         Assists with existing product modifications by providing specific applications.

    Education:

    ·         Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field is strongly desired

    Position Requirements:

    ·         Must be a certified A&P Mechanic.

    ·         Must possess current, valid Driver’s License.

    ·         Must have general working knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration rules and regulations.

    ·         International travel experience is a plus. Will be required to obtain a US Passport for international travel assignments.

    ·         3-5 years of experience in general aviation engine maintenance, operations and/or assembly is a plus.

    ·         Experience in electronically controlled gasoline or common rail Diesel engines is a plus.

    Job Summary:

    We believe people should love what they do – in this role, you will be responsible for:

    • Participate in the monthly forecasting, departmental budgeting, and variance analysis processes.  Prepare monthly, quarterly, annual, and long range forecasting financial packages including causal and detailed financial analysis. 
    • Operations Finance – analyze impacts to productivity/efficiency, usage variances, and cost overruns.

    • Contribute to development and on-time execution of program schedules.
    • Oversee the execution of the technical aspects of product development & certification programs necessary to achieve strategic business objectives.
    • Maintain staffing levels for the Mechanical Engineering group

      • Periodic performance management (priorities & objectives review) and its alignment with program deliverables
      • Regular communication (discussions, escalations and resolution of any outstanding items)
      • Skills planning and training activities for direct reports
    • Monitor functional department performance by
      • Analysis of team performance and its alignment with departmental objectives
      • Solicitation and analysis of internal customers feedback (program teams)
    • Work with cross-functional teams (internal and intra-divisional BU) in R&D activities towards a sustainable future of propulsion systems.

    Participate and leverage industry trends and market shifts through GAMA, ASTM, VFS societies towards sustainable green future in GA market

    Additional Requirements:

    • Basic knowledge of Internal Combustion Engines and their operation.
    • Knowledge of GD&T, FEA, and CAD.
    • Understanding of engineering processes and best practices
    • Teamwork approach, presentation skills, ability to resolve conflicts. 
    • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communications skills. 
    • Familiarity with FAA regulations is a plus.
    • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is a plus.
    • Private pilot’s license desirable but not required.

     

     

    Educational Requirements:

     

    • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 10 years’ experience required 
    • Master’s Degree is a plus.
