    JOB DUTIES:

    The Systems Engineer works as an integral part of the Lycoming team to design or select appropriate electrical and mechanical components for use on the engine control systems.  Responsible for developing specifications that meet the intent of system requirements, working with suppliers to select components that meet the specifications, and testing the components to ensure compliance.  Participate in system architecture design trade-off analysis and hardware requirements definition.  Review and oversee system testing, including calibration development.

    JOB DUTIES:

    Responsible for creating engine/component designs with regard to function, durability, manufacturability, material specifications, and analysis, in support of New Product Development and Sustaining Product initiatives.  Emphasis on growth of analytical and CAE skills to become Subject Matter Expert and mentor.

    • Investigate, determine failure mode and effects, and resolve design and specification issues from Discrepant Material Reports.
    • Create BOM’s; ECO’s for engine specs, process specs, and drawings.
    • Provide guidance to drafting/CAD operators.
    • Consult with suppliers/customers on designs and specifications.
    • Recommend Engineering changes and ensure timely and accurate preparation and implementation.

     

    REQUIRED LICENCES OR CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification preferred.
    • Private Pilot's license desirable.
