    JOB SCOPE:

         Create and maintain detailed operational processes for parts, sub-assemblies, and engine build ensuring that mistake proofing techniques are incorporated into these processes.

         Utilization of CAD systems for the design, detail, and checking of simple to intermediate level jigs, fixtures, gauges, tools, and simple machines.

         Creation and maintenance of simple to intermediate level CNC programs for multiple axis machine tools including writing, editing, troubleshooting, and correcting tooling/programming problems.

         Tool designer owns process and program until proven out.

         Interface with numerous departments, including but not limited to, Engineering, Operations, Quality, Product Support, Materials, Procurement and Sales. Works across payrolls, functions and shifts to solve problems in a timely manner.

         Provide operational processes, designs, and programs in such a manner that complies with Lycoming processes and procedures to meet customer requirements.

          

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

         Associate degree or two-year certificate program in Tool Technology, Automated Manufacturing, CAM/CNC Programming or equivalent. Previous education or job experience may allow waiver of educational requirements.

         One-year experience preferred.

         Demonstrated proficiency with computers and various types of software including Microsoft office Word and Excel.

         Ability to read and interpret simple to intermediate level blue prints.

         Ability to articulate in both written and spoken communication.

    Job Summary:

    Come join the team to work as an integral part of the Lycoming engineering team to support existing engineering frameworks and project initiatives to meet the evolving demand in digitization, electronification and modernization of the propulsion sub-systems in the general aviation space. The selected individual will be responsible for developing software solutions for various products in their respective design lifecycle.

     

    The selected candidate will interface with Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Test Engineering on a regular basis; meanwhile interface with Customers and Suppliers on an as-needed regular basis.  Participation in onsite visits to customer or supplier locations as engineering representative may be required on an as-needed basis.

     

    Tasks include but are not limited to:

    ·                  Utilization of graphical programming language primarily LabVIEW to augment existing SW product offerings for customers

    ·                  Software requirements and specification development to support cross-functional engineering development and verification activities

    ·                  Test case development and implementation in HILSIM environment for hardware-software verification and validation of various engineering programs

    The person in this role will interface on a regular basis with Lycoming’s Authorized Distributors, industry peers, OEM teams, engine shops, and End Users.

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor Degree in Business, Technical discipline, or related Aeronautical Engineering is a plus or equivalent directly-related experience.
    • Thorough knowledge of general aviation industry, Lycoming Products and Services, and how they are applied.
    • 10-15 years experience with Distribution and Channel Management is a requirement
    • Self-motivated, problem solver who is driven and motivated to grow sales and maintain excellent customer relationships.
    • Excellent communication & presentation skills, strong presence, judgment and negotiation skills.
    • This individual is preferred to reside in Australia with travel (up to 75%) required – primarily within the territory, with domestic travel as necessary.
