    Primary Responsibilities:

    The basic requirements for a Security Staff employee are to provide protection for company property against fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry. The security officer is responsible for maintaining continuous surveillance of company property and perimeter fences, performing in-plant patrols with regard to employee safety and asset protection.     PRIMARY PURPOSE:       

    Under the direction of the Litigation Manager and Lycoming Counsel, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a collegial office environment on a variety of legal activities in support of the world’s premier general aviation engine manufacturer.  These activities include assisting attorneys and staff in managing import and export compliance for international procurement and sales, supporting contract life-cycle activities, maintaining electronic records system, and assisting in areas of litigation, employment, internal investigation, ethics and compliance, and other legal tasks that arise in the day-to-day operation of the business. 

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    -      Managing, contractual, compliance, and litigation files, both hard copy and electronically and provide other litigation support (most often discovery-related tasks) as required

    -      Support the tracking of litigation, export, and ethics and compliance program responsibilities coordinating updates to the enterprise risk management system, and preparing various reports for senior leadership

    -      Administer the company’s records management program, including preparation and presentation of training materials to Records Coordinators, managing the relationship with the company’s offsite storage vendor, identifying and implementing continuous improvement to the program’s policies and procedures, etc.

    -      Support a variety of investigations – including human resource matters, business conduct and ethics complaints, export compliance issues, contracts claims/disputes and security matters

    -      Provide support to department attorneys for a variety of other functional areas, including real estate, transactional agreements, security, IT, etc.

    JOB DUTIES:

    The Systems Engineer works as an integral part of the Lycoming team to design, select, integrate, and validate appropriate electrical, mechanical components for use on the engine control system.  Responsible for developing electrical and mechanical requirements ranging from high level system requirements to architecture level requirements that meet the intent of overall engine system. The engineer will be working with suppliers to select components that meet the component level requirements of the engine system and following standard systems engineering principle to integrate it on the overall system. Review and oversee system testing, controller stability testing, fine tuning of the controller to meet customer requirements.

     

    The Systems Engineer will interface with Design Engineering, Applications Engineering, Test Engineering, Customers, and Suppliers on a regular basis.  Participation in flight tests may be required depending on the level of controller integration required at the customer base. Review of the flight test data may be required to understand variations in controller stability in a dynamic profile and refine the controller parameters to yield a perfectly stable system for the customer.

     

    Tasks include but are not limited to:

    • Requirements and specification development (hardware, software: limited to control algorithms)

    • Controller generation using control laws and refining the controller to meet end user customer requirements

    • Identification of suppliers and potential components

    • Develop and conduct trade study analysis on components to yield best results for the system
