Earth Day Across Textron

People around the planet are celebrating Earth Day in many different ways. Here are some of the ways that our teams are making a difference in their communities.

It’s never too early to celebrate! Earlier this month our colleagues in Troy, Michigan, got a jump on Earth Day by participating in an event called Greening Detroit. They prepared the gardens in downtown Detroit by cleaning out old soil, trash, etc., so they can be used by the community to grow vegetables.

The more you know, the more you can help. On Earth Day, Bell welcomed two guests from Fort Worth Nature Center who spoke on environmental awareness. Bell colleagues also had the chance to learn how they can live a more environmentally sustainable lifestyle. All week at lunchtime, employees can trade five plastic grocery bags for one high-quality reusable bag with the Bell logo. Or, they can donate $1 to Rolling Hills Tree Farm in Fort Worth to support tree planting projects in the area.

Textron Corporate

April showers bring May flowers, and a group of 12 employees from our Corporate office are making sure of it. They are planting flowers at Burnside Park in downtown Providence to help beautify the park. Textron Systems Since 2015, employees have been celebrating Earth Day in conjunction with Bring Your Child to Work Day. On Thursday, employees will have a chance to bring their child to work for a day filled with events including an Earth Day Fair. The fair will have a variety of educational topics and activities.

Even the Earth needs a Spring cleaning. On Saturday, our colleagues at TSV are participating in cleanup and beautification activities in local parks and along roadways in at least three of the communities where they work and live: Augusta, Kennesaw and Thief River Falls. Thank you for your time and commitment! And for all those who are participating in local activities, keep up the great work.
